Army clarifies on road accident PDF Print E-mail
Dimapur, Jan 7: The army has sought to clarify on a recent road accident involving two men on a motorcycle and a vehicle of an army convoy. A press statement issued by Capt. Samarjit Sharma, Officiating PRO, IGAR (North), states that on receiving the news of the accident near Heritage village Kisama at around 10:30 am, an army official rushed to the accident site immediately to take stock of the situation. The army official found the convoy being stopped by villagers at Khuzama village. On enquiring about the accident, it was reported that the driver of the bike, Bode Sale, was admitted at Bethel Hospital, Kohima, and the pillion rider, Kivo Nobo Loho, had sustained minor injuries. They both belong to Khuzama village.

The statement also stated that the army official, in order to assist the villagers in settling the chaos, carried out an identification parade of the vehicles and the drivers of the convoy, but neither the pillion rider nor the villager was able to identify anyone. “Although no one could be identified, the army officials promised full cooperation to the villagers to look into the matter and take appropriate action if at all any person/vehicle of the army convoy was involved in the said accident,” the PRO added.
