BJP appoints committee to revive party |

Kohima , May 24 BJP today formed a five-member ad hoc committee in Nagaland to revive and strengthen the party following its setback in the recent Lok Sabha polls in the state.
Former state party chief N Chuba Ao was appointed the president and incumbent Vikehielie Victor as general secretary along with two vice-presidents and secretary in the state ad hoc committee, party&aposs Nagaland in-charge Chandrasekhar Rao said.
Rao said BJP would now play the role of a constructive opposition both at the Centre and state.
He claimed that BJP played a major role in Nagaland, particularly towards restoration of peace and normalcy, during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee&aposs tenure.
Last week BJP state president Ato Yepthomi, two MLAs and a section of followers joined the ruling Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) claiming that Nagaland unit of BJP merged with the regional party to strengthen hands of chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
With two BJP MLAs joining NPF, the strength of the regional party rose to 40 in the 60-member state assembly.
