 The guys at Nagamusic.com were kind to share with us this interview. It was taken just after DC released their debut album 'El Roi'. We have been informed they're working on their 2nd album which is due soon. For all those who don’t know you guys, tell us a bit about your band. Divine Connection is a Christian band that experiments with all genre of music. We are not confined to just the Christian crowd but we like to cross barriers and cater our music to every section of the society advocating good clean music without the involvement of drugs, sex, alcohol and violence. Why the name Divine Connection. Well Divine Connection signifies the vertical relationship between God and man and the horizontal relationship between man and man. Its basically the triangular relationship between God and Man. We also wanted the name of the band to be catchy lolz.. What are your band’s influences? We all come from different backgrounds. Obed grew up listening to Queen, Harem Scarem and the other 80’s slow and glam rock bands. Yanpo has his influences from Deep purple, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Metillica and other metal bands, While Mhathung grew up listening to all types of music but was more attached to funk, Jazz while Pantera has been a major influences. At the same time allow us to mention that we are very much attached to cool and funky kinda jazz. This is why we like to experiment with all kinds of music. Some good reviews about your debut ablum ‘El – Roi’ How do you feel after having finally released it? First of all we never imagined how much we would have to sacrifice and put into to seriously release an album. If not for all our sponsors, family and friends we would never have been able to launch our album. Heartfelt thanks to all of them. Wow!!! we never imagined that people would be so receptive to our music, all the encouraging phone calls and messages we get really want us make to work harder and give better music to our fans, at the same time without Gods faithfulness and direction we would never have made it this far. You guys definitely love experimenting; will this be your trend in the future? We really can’t say, people kinda love what we are doing as of now. We may keep on experimenting or we may find a particular genre and stick to it in the future you never know. All we can assure our fans is that God willing we will continue to give them better music even in the future. Anything to say to your fans? Sure, we would never have come to where we are at if not for your prayers, financial and moral support. We really are indebted to your love!! Continue to pray for us and remember enjoy good music without indulging in sex, drugs, alcohol and violence. WHY SHOULD THE DEVIL HAVE ALL THE GOOD MUSIC?? PEACE!!!!  |
