Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): Processed through seven stages of purification, ‘Oasis’, a new brand of packaged drinking water was launched today in Dimapur. Set up by young entrepreneur couple Heroka and Illibo Rochill, the bottling plant located at Purana Bazar was inaugurated by the Parliamentary Secretary for Industries & Commerce, Dr. K C Nihoshe.
Oasis, which will enter the market tomorrow, has been designed and packed in four sizes and will also be marketed to other states like Manipur and Assam. The hi-tech mechanised plant will produce 1,500 litres of mineral water per hour which amounts to bottling 1,200 bottles every hour. An ISI trade marked product, Oasis claims to be the second bottling plant in the entire North East using seven stages of purification, equivalent to national brands like Kinley and Bisleri.
Appreciating the efforts of the two young entrepreneurs, Dr. Nihoshe said more Nagas should venture into business. He assured the government of Nagaland is ever ready to finance and assist interested people. The Parliamentary Secretary pointed out that Oasis is fulfilling the objective of the charter of demands set by the World Health Organization to give pure and healthy water to every human being. He urged young Nagas to take up challenges and seek competition to enhance the quality of products.
The new bottling plant has been made possible through financial assistance from a nationalised bank. With state of the art machineries, the new brand of packaged water will be available at an introductory price below the maximum retail price.
