Unattended bag creates panic PDF Print E-mail
Dimapur, Sept 5: An unattended bag in a garment shop along Church Road Dimapur created a stir forcing the police to cordon off the area and call in Special Branch, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), at around 5 pm on Saturday.

The unattended bag, Addl SP informed, was discovered by the owner of the store while he was closing the shop to go home. The bag was lying right in the entrance way obstructing the shop shutter when the police team arrived. With memories of the October 2, 2004, blast at the Railway Station and Hongkong Market still fresh in the minds of the people, police did not take any chances. The ASP said the BDS team, on securing the bag, took it to the police station for further examination. However, it turned out to be an apparent innocuous bag left behind by somebody. The bag contained cloths, toilet articles, medicines along with a medical prescription from a Kolkata-based clinic belonging to one Edward, the ASP informed.
