Big-ger n better! PDF Print E-mail
ImageWhen you talk about the most-loved tracks of the 90s, Mr Big's To Be With You and Wild World are sure to feature in the list. The band, which split in 2002, announced their reunion on radio in Tokyo this year and soon after released their new record Back To Budokan with two new songs Next Time Around and Hold Your Head Up, recorded and filmed at the sold-out comeback show in Tokyo.

"In Asia, we have been blessed to have an incredibly loyal fan-base that have never let go of their support for us," says lead vocalist, Eric Martin.

While the reasons for their split were closely guarded, Martin admits, "As with any band that tours and records almost non-stop like we did for so long, members often grow away from each other a bit and tension is created."

The equations within the band have changed after they parted ways. Martin says, "All of us would have liked to try to recapture the magic we had back then, but it took time for us all to do many of things independently that we wanted to attain. And it took time for us to realise how much fun and respect we all had for each other."

Musically too things changed. "We hear more things now, try new things whenever we can, and spend time absorbing what other musicians are exploring and discovering around the world," says Martin, who'll be performing in Bangalore on October 10, Shillong on October 12 and Dimapur on October 14.
