Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): High Quality Marketing & Consulting (HQMC), a member of Kore Group Inc of Korea has identified the North East as a potential area for investments. As part of its first plan, the group has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Nagaland Government to set up a solar power station in Dimapur at a cost of Rs 500 crore, stated a news report carried in the Assam Tribune on November 30.
The new station is expected to have a 30 MW production capacity which will provide power to the newly developed Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Ganesh Nagar in Dimapur. The Government has already provided 10 acres of land in the locality to set up the mega project. HQMC is a leading group in Korea which is known for executing mega power projects in many countries in the world. It has also set up a project in Korea with a capacity of producing 117 MW power at a cost of $ 125 million.
“This will be a joint venture project in Dimapur. Considering the amount involved in the project, we are scouting for other Indian companies to take part in it,” I Himato Zhimomi, Commissioner & Secretary of Nagaland Government, told the Assam Tribune correspondent over telephone from Kohima. In this context, he stated that the Nagaland Government has accorded top priority to the renewable energy sector to generate power without affecting the environment. “HQMC is a leading group in this sector and therefore, we have invited it to set up the project,” he said. A high-level group of Nagaland is visiting Korea soon to carry forward the plan, it was informed.
