Easter Natso crowned Miss Nagaland 2009 |

KOHIMA, DEC 4 (EMN): Standing 161.7 cms tall, 22-year old Easter Natso standing was crowned Miss Nagaland tonight amidst a cheering audience in an atmosphere set perfect for the 13 beautiful contestants of the prestigious beauty pageant at State Academy Hall Kohima.
Aspiring to be a business woman, a radiant Easter Natso won the appreciation of the audience and the judges with her answer that she would change mentality of tribalism in the state if there’s one thing she can change in Nagaland.
Also standing pretty by her side, Aghali Chishi and Mary Kent were crowned Miss Nagaland 1st Runner up and 2nd Runner up respectively.
The winners received cash prizes, bouquets and gift hampers.
Among the subtitle winners, Kenino Nakhro emerged the most popular contestant bagging the Eastern Mirror Readers’ Choice Award. Altogether 13,783 votes were polled in the Readers’ Choice contest out of which Kenino bagged 4345 votes with Zasivonuo Ringa trailing behind with 2891 votes and Ghali Chishi with 1852 votes.
Both Miss Beautiful Skin and Miss Perfect Ten were bagged by Khweni Tsela while Miss Congeniality title was awarded to Henchem Phom and Miss Photogenic to Aghali Chishi.
The judges for tonight’s beauty pageant were Regina Rongmei, former Miss Nagaland, MK Mero, OSD, Industries and Commerce, Aolemla, State Development Commissioner, Coordination and Planning, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, Director, Indian Postal Service and Hekani Jakhalu, Director, Youth Net.
The glamorous evening also saw performances of local artistes and showcasing of designs by Naga designers namely Hokali, Rensale and Rosou Rhi and a special performance by Korean artistes.
