DIMAPUR, JAN 31 (EMN): After a night-long chase, Dimapur Police today morning at around 1 am rescued Nagaland Medical Dealer’s Association representative Nitram Jain who was abducted by miscreants on January 29.
A suspect has been arrested in this connection. Basing on intelligence input, the police team led by SP Dimapur Liremo Lotha and SDPO (D) Shouka during a search operation rescued the abducted from Razhaphe area. SDPO (D) Shouka said the abductors initially made a ransom demand of Rs 1 crore from the family of Jain but later compromised for Rs 1 lakh. The police rescued the abductee when the miscreants came to take the ransom demand. Meanwhile, the Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the SP, SDPO Dimapur and OC Diphupar Police Station for their prompt action in rescuing the victim. The NMDA has once again called upon all its associate business organisations to remain united and take collective actions against such crimes.
