Dimapur, February 15 (MExN): An 8-member team of the Nagaland Legislators’ Forum on AIDs is in Hong Kong on an “exposure trip.” The trip is scheduled for till February 15. On February 10, the legislators led by Health & Family Welfare Kuzholuzo Neinu and NLA Deputy Speaker Ralanthung Yanthan visited the Department of Health headquarters in Hong Kong. The team met with the department’s staff. On the 11th, the legislators visited the Red Ribbon Center and discussions on HIV/AIDS in Hong Kong and China were held.

A note received here from the forum said that the “technical arrangements” for the visit of the team was by UNAIDS of China through the UNAIDS of India. The purpose of the Naga legislators’ trip to the best-practice sites is to deepen insights of the core members of the forum. This way, effective implementation of HIV/AIDS prevention-programmes of the Government of Nagaland may be ensured. Also, similar programmes as learned from the exposure trip may be adopted in the context of Nagaland while framing relevant policies.
