3 new flyovers to come up in Dimapur |

Dimapur, Feb 16: Three major flyovers are in pipe line to ease out the ever growing traffic woes and congestions in Dimapur town. This was stated by DC and vice chairman District Planning Development Board (DPDB), Moangwati Aier, while addressing the monthly DPDB meeting held at Nuiland sub-division on Monday.
According to him, the three flyover projects include- one from Circuit House (super market) to DC court junction (Duncan Basti), which has been initiated by Lok Sabha MP, CM Chang. The second major flyover across Dhansari river adjacent to new Dhansari bridge, would also come up and it has been initiated by Dr. Shurhozelie, minister for urban development and higher education and G Kaito Aye, minister for roads & bridges.
The DC said the flyover projects have been approved and sanctioned by ministry of road and surface transport, government of India and were likely to come up soon.
The DPDB vice chairman also mentioned that the third flyover would come up near Spirit of Faith Church, Half Nagarjan to oil depot, Thahekhu village, which has been initiated by MLA and adviser sericulture, Azheto Zhimomi, who is also the chairman of district planning development board for Dimapur district.
The DC Dimapur who is also vice chairman DPDB Dimapur district said that in order to ease traffic congestions in Dimapur town, a major traffic plan layout was forwarded to the DPDB members for discussion. He also said that the road from Deluxe point (Bata Charali) to the Plaza point junction will be made one way and entry to the N.L.Road(Church Road) through Dhobinala G.S road.
He further said that road divider would also be demolished to accommodate more vehicles along N.L.Road9Church Road).
Moangwati also said the old Dhansiri River Bridge near circuit house will be made two-way traffic for light vehicles in order to ease out congestion along Hotel Tragopan point near DDSC stadium.
The DC also said an exit road inside the Holy Cross School compound towards Nepali Basti has been initiated and the state government has already sanctioned Rs.18 lakhs to the district administration.
The DPDB members approved the suggestions made by its vice chairman and it was decided to implement these projects soon.
Earlier Azheto Zhimomi, MLA and adviser sericulture who is also the chairman of the DPDB initiated the monthly meeting. Various agendas were set for the DPDB members to deliberate.
Deliberating on the shortage of maths and science teachers in Dhansiripar government schools, DIS Dimapur opined math and science teachers of Dhansiripar GHS were appointed without post creation.
Azheto Zhimomi also inspected the Nuiland football ground which is to host the All Sumi Sports meet organized by Western Sumi Games and Sports Association from March 9-14 and donated Rs.5 lakhs to the administration.
