DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 25 (MExN): Students of the Science stream can now groom themselves to successfully gain admissions to the prestigious IITs in India. Takshila Institute, New Delhi, which goes by the slogan ‘A victory path for IIT-JEE/Medical Entrance Exam’, inaugurated its first branch in the northeast at Dimapur on February 25 here at Livingstone Foundation Higher Secondary School, Thahekhu/Kevija-u.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Khekiho Yeptho, Senior Manager at Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), i/c of North East and Eastern India, under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, government of India, encouraged the students to have clear vision and to look beyond Nagaland. He said the responsibility of moulding the students rests on both the teachers and the parents. “If you earn yourself, you enjoy the most,” Yeptho said, and cited as example his own life when he was an engineering student at Gujarat. He also wished other institutions would also take it as a stepping stone and open up avenues for Naga students.
The Takshila Institute has been rated among the top five institutes in India during the year 2010 for successfully grooming students for the IIT-JEE/Medical Entrance Exams. The reason behind the opening of a branch in Dimapur is the people’s trust in the Livingstone Foundation, said Levi E Katy, Regional Coordinator for Takshila Institute, New Delhi. Besides having a “strong academic panel”, the fee cost is 30% cheaper than the Delhi rates, revealed Katy.
The crash course for the exams commences in the month of March.
