Dimapur gas agencies demand security |

DIMAPUR, MAR 8 (EMN): With increasing incidents of daylight looting of hard cash by armed miscreants from gas agencies in Dimapur, the Dimapur LPG Dealers Association has urged
DC Dimapur to provide adequate security in all gas agencies of the commercial hub.
In a representation to the DC today, president of Association also said the gas agencies will have no option but to close down indefinitely with effect from tomorrow to safeguard the interest of distributors if necessary security is not provided.
The representation signed by the owners of six gas agencies brought to the notice of the DC that four armed miscreants looted the day’s sale proceeds amounting to approximately Rs 1. 94 lakh from the gas godown of KT Gas Agency located at 2½ Mile in broad day light on Monday.
Earlier on December 17 last year, some armed miscreants looted the day’s sale proceeds of hard cash from Zinyu Gas Agency located at Circular Road in broad day light.
The representation further said many such incidents of looting of cash from gas counters have gone unreported in the past many years causing huge losses to the owners/proprietors of the gas agencies. But, the Association keeping in mind the interest and welfare of the public at large has urged the owners of the gas agencies to bear with the losses without resorting to any steps that may cause inconvenience to the general public.
