Grievances unheard at e-modop |

KOHIMA, APR 27 (NPN):Grievances written by citizens were not responded at www.e-modop.com, a state government’s portal and online public grievances redressal system launched in early 2008. Majority of grievances submitted to various government departments remained on “pending” status.
The public grievances redressal system gives liberty to citizens to submit their complaints or grievances online on any issue dealing with government departments. Upon successful submission, a unique Grievance number is generated and provided to complainants where they can later view their grievance status by keying in their grievance number.
However, out of a total 128 grievances, only few answers to complaints were disposed. The disposed answers were mostly of questions relating to Department of IT, the department managing the website. Other grievances addressed to departments mostly of PWD, Transport, Tourism, Police, Power, Higher Education were not responded.
Functioning of e-modop ensures that each department have a nodal officer to handle grievances addressed to it and pass appropriate orders for redressal of the grievance along with fixing a time limit for the redressal to the complainant alongside his complain on e-modop site. Grievances status of many complaints have remained pending since 2008.
