Dimapur, May 20 (MExN): A team of ATAN executive members had met the Chief Secretary, Nagaland on May 20, 2010 to deliberate on the present situation wherein ‘the fates of more than 2000 teachers are hanging without certainty.’ A press note issued by the Association stated that the meeting ended in a positive note with an assurance from the Chief Secretary that the matter is being looked in line with the directive issued by the Chief Minister which was earlier assured to the members of the ATAN i.e. to accommodate the genuinely qualified and sincere teachers.
The ATAN also mentioned in the note that it clarified to the Chief Secretary regarding the allegations of bribery against the SIT/SVC by stating that as per the anomalies detected from the report of SIT list, the ATAN had speculated that definitely it may not be purely human error wherein so many anomalies had crept into the SIT report, therefore either bribery, nepotism or favoritism must have been practiced by the SIT and further stated ‘It is the ATAN’s conjecture only and not an accusation against the SIT as such the ATAN expressed their regrets if in the process of our outbursts the sentiments and image of any sincere and honest members of the SIT have been affected.’
Meanwhile, the note further requested the members of ATAN to bear with the process of Special Verification by the SVC. The ATAN also sincerely expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the welfare government for initiating steps for redressal of their grievances.
