Parliamentary Secretary’s son in trouble again PDF Print E-mail
KOHIMA, JUN 23: After the NPSC answer sheet swapping case, Parliamentary Secretary for Industries and Commerce Dr KC Nihoshe will once again likely face the heat on account of his son, Heto Yepthomi, who has been caught threatening the official of the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO). A rifle and ammunitions were also recovered from the government registered vehicle the parliamentary secretary’s son was driving, it was informed.

According to a press release issued here today, the AYO said its vice president had intervened in a situation of public disturbance being created by a person at SKV Petrol Pump on Tuesday afternoon. The person was identified as Heto Yepthomi, son of Dr KC Nihose, a permanent resident of Sukhalu village under Zunheboto District. The AYO official had reportedly approached Heto to ask him to give way to others who were in queue to fill fuel when he was met with a violent reaction. The youth body alleged that Heto started threatening its official with his ‘tribal identity’ in Nagamese. “This provoked the vice president who called other colleagues to come and intervene. Later, he (Heto) was also found with arms and ammunition (rifle) and boarded on the Government vehicle bearing NL-10 6513,” the AYO release said.

Subsequently, with the intervention of police, Heto was taken under custody and a case registered under South Police Station. Sources confirmed that the charges are yet to be withdrawn by AYO. In this connection, the AYO has demanded clarification on five points from the authority, which include: Whether Heto is entitled to use a government vehicle with VIP light; Whether the rifle found in his possession is licensed in his name; Is it proper to carry arms in public places; Are there any security threats to Heto for which he should carry arms and why he should threaten AYO officials with his tribal identity? Demanding an explanation to their queries, the AYO release issued by its president Khrielievi Chusi and vice president Kekhrievolie Keyho said justice should be delivered without delay.
