| First Soya milk production centre launched at Dimapur |

Nagaland Post Dimapur, Dec 27: As part of its self reliant project, Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre, Dimapur launched a Soya Milk Production Centre at Walford, Dimapur. The Project was sponsored by department of agriculture government of Nagaland under the National Watershed Development Project for Rainfed Areas. The unit was inaugurated by the director of agriculture Dr. Supong Keitzer at a simple function held at production centre at Walford, Dimapur. Soyamilk Production Centre,BYWCD manager, Renjamo Kithan said the project was first of its kind in Nagaland and also in North Eastern region. "The Miracle Gold Bean ( Soyabean) will surely upgrade the socio-economic status of the farming community. Small is beautiful and I wish to see this small effort today to grow and progress further to a greater world", said director of agriculture in his inaugural speech. He also lauded the brave effort of Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre for venturing out for a greater cause and assured possible help for further development of the project. He also cautioned them to be sincere in their undertaking so as to produce effective results. The joint director of agriculture, E. H. Lotha highlighted briefly about the pros and cons of Soyamilk production centre. The function was chaired by the executive director of Bethesda Youth Welfare Centre W.C. Humtsoe. Rev. Dr. Nzan Odyuo, Principal, Golden Crown Centre for Music and Theology pronounced the dedicatory prayer. Renben Jami, deputy director, land resources and host of other well wishers also attended the inaugural function. Participants were served Soyamilk and Tofu. |
